History buffs won't run out of things to explore. Downtown is home to the Jewish Heritage Museum; Trinity Church, one of the oldest churches in New York and the burial place of Alexander Hamilton; the Irish Memorial, dedicated to Celtic settlers during the potato famine; the National Museum of the American Indian, which contains 800,000 artifacts and works of art; and South Street Seaport, where you can board historic sailing vessels that helped America become a world power.
